Without the New Duddon Estuary Crossing
we face years of:

Our taxes spent on upgrading more than 50 miles
of roadway which are unsuitable for the traffic and
cross into the National Park.

Ever-increasing weights of wagon approved by the
EC using these rural roads.

Traffic racing over fells to and from Sellafield.

Poor access to West Lakes Business Park

Limited opportunities to recover fron the effects
of Foot and Mouth disease.

Noise pollution from A595 in South Lake District
and A66 in North Lake District.

Cardon Monoxide and other fumes drifting up
valleys and fells.

Disruption of natural habitats.

Millom and Whitehaven isolated with inadequate
links to motorway network.

A bridge between Askam and Millom with
Millom bypass will:

Help us recover from Foot and Mouth disease

Replace over 50 miles of roads through rural
England with 4.95 miles of new road linking
industrial centres.

Be the cheapest and most environmentally friendly
answer to traffic problems in North Lake District,
Furness and West Cumbria.

Cut traffic on A66 and take half an hour off journey
between M6 and Sellafield, reducing traffic and
noise pollution around The Lake District.

Give business and job opportunities for long
term development in West Cumbria.

Create a natural route south from Whitehaven.

Free schools from the dangers and noise nuisance
of heavy traffic.

Avoid fog, snow and ice on Gawthwaite Fell.

Save the County Council upgrading A66 as well as
roads around Furness and Duddon Estuary.

Leave undisturbed the Site of Special Scientific
Interest at the head of the Duddon Estuary.

Not affect water patterns in the Estuary.

Take through traffic away from villages, valleys and fells.
