FAIR TRADE TOWN
Millom has now officially been grated the status of a FAIR TRADE TOWN.We are the first Fair Trade Town in Copeland and second only to Kendal in Cumbria. This year is the 10th anniversary of the Fair Trade Foundation and the 25th anniversary of Traidcraft. Both have campaigned tirelessley to make us aware of the injustices of international trade rules. Thank you Millom for taking the challenge too.

CUMBRIA IN BLOOM
In this years Cumbria in Bloom, Millom has won the Jennings Trophy for Best Small Town 2003. We have received a beautiful engraved crystal trophy, which is on display in the Copeland Borough Council Office. Please come in and take a look as we are so proud of winning this trophy. St Georges Residential Home won the Rose Lodge Rosebowl for coming first in the Residential Category and St Lukes Churchyard were awarded joint 2nd in the Special Category, and received a framed certificate.
NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUM
This is a grant group where funding has been provided by both Cumbria County and Copeland Borough Councils. The support of this combined group has enabled your web site, Millom Town, to be developed. Editorial software has been procured from this source which will enable the rapid editing of updates. Members of the public are invited, and strongly encouraged, to send in any items of interest that they would like to be selected for inclusion on the site.
As this is your site, local business, clubs and organisations etc can use this as a platform to deliver news of their sucesses, forthcoming events and promotions.
